    Pumpkin Pie Spice

    Pumpkin pie spice blend is a simple combination of spices that is used in a myriad of recipes involving pumpkin.  While this can be purchased pre-made from the grocery store, I am always all about homemade so that you know the ingredients you are putting into your food and your body.  Pumpkin pie spice is very easy to prepare at home and will last just as long as your dry spices do. 

    Here are the basic ingredients:

    • Cinnamon
    • Ground Ginger
    • Nutmeg
    • Ground Cloves

    Use these easy-to-follow directions for making a pumpkin pie spice blend from scratch:

    Add all the dry spices to a medium-sized bowl.

    Using a fork or a whisk mix everything until combined.  Use, or cover and store.

    Make-Ahead: You can make this up to 1 month ahead of time.

    How to Store: Cover and keep in a cool dark place for up to 3 months.
