Ingredients
For the Spices:
1tablespoonof coriander seeds
1teaspoonof celery seeds
1teaspoonof cayenne pepper
2teaspoonsof dill
½teaspoonof ginger
1tablespoonof paprika
1teaspoonof pepper
2teaspoonsof ground mustard
½teaspoonof all-spice
2tablespoonsof sea salt
For the Shrimp Boil:
3sliced lemons
3bay leaves
20sprigs of fresh thyme leaves
2peeled and roughly chopped yellow onions
5poundsof red potatoes
6ears of shucked corn cut into thirds
2poundsof Polish sausage cut into 1” pieces
18fresh clams
3poundsof jumbo deveined shrimp
Instructions
Spices: Combine all ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.
Bring 3 gallons of water to a soft boil along with the spice blend, lemons, bay leaves, thyme, and onions. Note: the water should be as salty tasting like the ocean so you may need to add more in there.
Next, add in the potatoes and cook for 4 minutes before adding in the corn. Cook for another 4 minutes.
Add in the sausage and cook for 4 minutes and then add in the clams and cook for 4 minutes.
Finally, turn the heat off completely and add in the shrimp and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked and the clams have opened.
Drain the shrimp and clam boil and serve on a newspaper or a large serving platter.
Notes
Note: the water should be as salty tasting as the ocean so you may need to add more in there.
