Tailgating is always a good time, but if you’re cooking it can be a bit stressful. Here’s my guide to making sure all mouths are being fed!
For Main Dishes:
- If it’s an all-day tailgate, plan to have at least one of each protein for adults. So, for example, if you’re serving hot dogs, hamburgers and brats, count on people eating one of each.
- If it’s not an all-day tailgate, ensure there’s at least two proteins per adult and one protein per kid. For adults, it doesn’t matter what it is, just give them the option to have at least one hot dog with the option to try a brat or a hamburger as well. For the kids, just worry about making one protein per kid.
For Side Dishes: For side dishes, figure four to six ounces each per person. So, 1/2 to 3/4 cup of potato salad per person, and then repeat with all side dishes offered.
