New York Strip Steak Recipe with Creamed Spinach

Creamed Spinach and New York Strip

Ingredients
  • 1 clove of finely minced fresh garlic
  • 1 diced small shallot
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 3 cups of packed baby or regular spinach
  • 14 ounce New York strip steak
  • 1 ounce of shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. In a large sauté pan on high heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, caramelize the shallots and garlic. Once brown add in the cream and cook until it becomes very thick, like Alfredo sauce. When thick, add in spinach and cook until wilted. Adjust the seasonings with salt and pepper and keep warm.
  2. Rub the steak down with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and season all sides with salt and pepper and place on a very hot grill, in between 500 and 600 degrees. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side to achieve a medium-rare internal temperature. Once your desired temperature is achieved remove from the heat and let sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. To Plate: Serve the steak alongside the creamed spinach and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top of the spinach.
