Crab Cakes Sandwich with Aioli and Italian Fries
Be sure to try this delicious crab cakes sandwich recipe with asiago aioli and a side of Italian fries.
For the Crab Cake:
  • ¼ cup of diced red pepper
  • ¼ cup of diced yellow pepper
  • ¼ cup of diced green pepper
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup of of jumbo lump crab meat
  • 2 cups of Panko bread crumbs
  • 3 cloves of finely minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • Lea an Perrins to taste
  • Tabasco to taste
  • Old Bay seasoning to taste
  • fresh cracked pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of oliveoil
For the Italian Fries:
  • ¼ cup of olive oil
  • 1 Idaho potato sliced thin
  • ⅓ cup of sliced green onions
  • Lawrys seasoning to taste
For the Aioli:
  • ⅓ cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of chiffonade fresh basil
  • 4 tablespoons of shredded asiago cheese
  • juice of ½ lemon
  • 2 teaspoons of prepared horseradish
  • Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
  1. Start by preparing all vegetables accordingly.
  2. Next, in skillet on low heat with 1 tbs butter add in chopped peppers, shallots and garlic and cook for 4-6 minutes.
  3. After they are cooked let cool in the refrigerator.
  4. While it is chilling add the sliced potato chips to ¼ C olive oil on high heat and cook until crispy, but not burnt. Set aside on paper towel to dry.
  5. Once they are dry toss with lawrys and green onions and set aside.
  6. Next add crab, mayo, eggs, panko, lemon juice, lea and perrins, tabasco, mustard, old bay and cracked pepper to the chilled pepper mixture and mix thoroughly.
  7. Form the crab cake mixture into 4 inch patties coating them in panko and set aside.
  8. Saute the crab cake patties in 2 tbs olive oil on medium-high heat browning on both sides and finishing in the oven on 350° for 8 - 12 minutes.
  9. In the mean time simply add all ingredients for the aioli in a bowl and mix well. Once everything is done simply plate of the dish.
  10. Add the crab cake patties to an onion or brioche roll with lettuce, tomato, onion and the wonderful aioli. Serve with the Italian fries and fresh strawberries. Enjoy!
