Homegating with PepsiCo

Pepsi-3

Football is a huge deal in my house every weekend! Whether it’s getting the food ready, inviting people over, or just watching the pregame sports networks to get hyped up, I love Football season! In fact, I get sad after the first game of the year because it’s 1 more week closer to the end of the season. All summer long I wait in anticipation to get to that opening weekend! Man I LOVE IT! My wife, not so much a huge fan of football, but a huge fan of hosting and entertaining and of course the opportunity to hang…

The Ultimate BLT Recipe

blt-bpreview

The Super Bowl may not be a calendar holiday, but in my house it’s one of the biggest days of the year.  It’s a reason to get together with friends, watch every commercial, grill when it’s absolutely freezing outside, and say farewell to football for 7 months. The great Vince Lombardi said his life consisted of, “Faith, Family and Football,” which would be similar to mine except add in “Friends” and “Food!”  Food on Super Bowl is the only consistently good thing on that day since your team may not be in the game or perhaps they’re losing, badly. Whenever…

Ice Cream Social

ice-cream-banner

If you remember my posts from National Frozen Food Month, I mentioned several times that ice cream is a must have and always on hand in my house.  If I want to make sure the wife’s sweet tooth is satisfied then I better have a pint of ice cream or else I’m on the way to the grocery store to get some.  I seriously feel I spend a good chunk of my time at the grocery store in the frozen food aisle drooling over the deliciously large assortment of ice cream as well as other frozen treats.  One of these…

Homemade Pizza Party Recipes

pizza

You know I always say it, “It’s Pizza, even when it’s bad it’s good.”  Seriously, you have to do some crazy things to mess up pizza.  So the other day I was in the mood to make some pizzas that are different than the typical tomato sauce and cheese so I got busy making a white and wheat dough and then change a few things up with the toppings.  From Margherita pizza to BBQ chicken pizza and then wild mushroom and roasted garlic pizza, they were awesome, but I may be bias 🙂  In any event for your next party,…

Chickpea Soup with Grilled Shrimp Recipe

1017072_10151459301541960_954015449_n

Chickpeas, bacon, tomatoes, shrimp, seriously need I say more?  Oh yeah WINE!  This  Chickpea Soup with Grilled Shrimp Recipe is really REALLY tasty and it is a cinch to make.  It’s a nice thick soup which makes it great for dipping the grilled shrimp into it and eating, or even spreading the soup on some bread.  I know that I usually only promote soups in the winter but this is a really nice soup to make in the summer, especially when tomatoes are in season and you can fire up that grill without digging through the snow to get there.…

Ahi Tuna with Ponzu Vinaigrette

tuna-3

This Ahi Tuna with Ponzu Vinaigrette may be one of the most beautiful dishes I’ve ever created.  With all of it’s bright contrasting colors from the oven roasted tomatoes, avocados, caramelized soya onions and the arugula or mizuna leaves, it’s gorgeous.  Also, not to be undone by the intense flavors in this dish from all those ingredients, it tastes just as good as it looks.  It actually is not to difficult to make either, really it’s just patience with the tomatoes and onions, past that its a quick sear on the ahi tuna, a quick ponzu vinaigrette and the dice of…
