Mediterranean Turkey Burger with Zucchini Fritter and French Remoulade

Every summer that comes along I always get pressured to buy turkey burgers by the pound at least once a week from my wife, so I whipped up this Mediterranean Turkey Burger with Zucchini Fritter and French Remoulade.  She is literally obsessed with turkey burgers, as are my in-laws, so every time I make them they seem to make arrangements to come over J; Needless-to-say, I live with Turketarains!  If you aren’t sure what that is, it’s someone who has taken the concept of eating turkey as much as possible to another level.  Now I’m not saying that it’s all…

Old Fashioned Kentucky Peach Lemonade

This Old Fashioned Kentucky Peach Lemonade is loaded with flavor and sure to quench your thirst this summer! The sun is shining consistently, it’s warm outside and we’re finally able to sit outside and enjoy it.  Usually when the weather begins to break like this we start entertaining pretty heavily at our house because there is a lot more room when we can go outside also.  Usually with having people over we always like to offer up an assortment of adult beverages like wine, beer and cocktails.  While I’ve made this Old Fashioned Kentucky Peach Lemonade in the past, I’ve…

Turkey Burger Frisco Melt with Sriracha 1000 Island

When I was in high school the Friday night hang out was Steak ‘N’ Shake.  It was literally right down the street so it was an easy meeting place after football games or after going out for the night.  I’m pretty sure we used to torture the poor wait staff there with our small orders while taking up seats and demanding fast service.  Oops!  One of the things I always ordered there was their Frisco melt.  If you’ve never had it, or don’t even live near a Steak ‘N’ Shake then here’s the recipe for you, with a little twist…

Southwest Turkey Burger with Guacamole and Chipotle Mayo

southwest-turkey-burger-preview

As a family we are always hanging out in the back yard and grilling up some delicious food!  In the summer time we like to try new things, like new bbq recipes or new burger recipes, so I decided to make an insanely delicious turkey burger.  I was looking for a little kick in the spice department so I whipped up a really tasty chipotle mayo, that honestly would have been ridiculously tasty with some fries, but instead I dumped it all over my burger J.  In addition, the the chipotle mayo I made a really good guac recipe to…

Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie with Bananas and Honey

banana-pie-preview

Every once in a while my daughter will take a strong interest in what I’m making in the kitchen. However when it comes to sweets she’s always trying to get in to see what I’m doing, she’s got a sweet tooth just like her mommy J. Although I had to keep her busy with a few Horizon® snacks, she did give me a hand making this Peanut Butter Yogurt Pie with Bananas and Honey. It was super easy to make and required very little prep time, which was huge in keeping a 2½ year olds attention span. Since my daughter…

How to Cool the Grill Flames

ton-flames-preview

So many times it seems that the grill is just too hot or the flames are way out of control. Obviously this means your food is most likely to burn unless you have some magical little cool spot on the grill that no one knows about. To simply make sure the fire is kept to a minimum, place an ice cube where the fire is most intense to help slowly cool it down without creating any huge smoke clouds or risk losing your fire all together.   How to Cool the Grill Flames was last modified: May 11th, 2015 by…

Introduction to Soigne

Screen Shot 2014-08-19 at 12.29.51 PM

I am just so excited to launch my new food video series Soigne.  Soigne, pronounced SWAN-YAY, is French for elegant, but us folks in the restaurant industry think of it as a sexy dish.  You obviously know I do a ton with photography and since my background is in video, I figured why not do something a little different. In these videos I’m the producer, shooter, editor, food stylist and chef, only I’m not actually in the videos.  My set up is crazy and filming day is even crazier.  Lots of camera movements, focusing, but dang is it fun.  Sure…

Tomato Soup Recipe and Grilled Cheese with Prosciutto

soup

Nothing reminds me of cold winters growing up in Michigan more than mom’s tomato soup and grilled cheese.  While that was a can of soup, some wonder bread and cheese, it was always so comforting and delicious.  This Tomato Soup Recipe and Grilled Cheese with Prosciutto is definitely my moms recipe on steroids, but I suppose it has to be given what I do for a profession, my mom was a hairdresser!  Really I wanted to give my moms recipe a face lift and add some more flavor into it, like using canned tomatoes from the summer for the soup, and…
